They initially met at church. They caught one another's eye, and at the appropriate time Gary approached Wanda and the two exchanged numbers. They talked "every night for two months" on the phone for hours on end, like two teenagers, getting to know one another and sharing the Word of God. Then one day Gary decided it was time to ask Wanda out on a date. She accepted. They went to Starbucks at Easton Town Center because they both love hot tea, then afterwards Gary surprised Wanda with a horse carriage ride. Because the two hit it off so well that cold December night, Wanda decided to invite Gary over for her family Christmas gathering the following day. Although the two were hesitant, because they did not want their families to assume they were dating, they decided to spend the holidays together anyway. Much to their surprise, both families were instantly accepting of the new found friendship. On New Years Day 2020, Gary asked Wanda if they could make their relationship official, and the two have been inseparable ever since.
We took a trip to New Orleans to celebrate Gary's birthday and had a long flight back home. Gary was quite anxious to get home, unbeknownst to Wanda, he was planning to propose that evening. They finally landed at Port Columbus Airport, drove to Wanda's house and Gary said he would be right back. Of course Wanda was thinking to herself, why is he coming back this late at night. Upon Gary's arrival, he had a book in his hand and asked Wanda to read it. As she read the book that he created , she giggled at each story because the characters resembled the two and portrayed their love story......UNTIL THE LAST PAGE,...As she slowly turned the page, Gary stepped closer to her. She flipped the page and read the words, "will you marry me?" Gary then got down on one knee and asked Wanda to be his wife for life. Wanda said YES and at that moment is when The Lord began to bridge the gap of two lives and bring meaning to Ecclesiastes 4:9-10.
