Our story from Tabbitha's perspective - Gary and I met when I was 13 at Beaumont Scout Reservation. An organization from my hometown provided at risk children a week long camping experience at Beaumont. My mom was the camp nurse and I had been attending the camp since I was 7 years old. Gary was a boy scout who worked at the camp, I noticed him at one point and that stated my 13 year old girl crush. During conversation, I learned that he attended and danced at many of the same powwows that I regularly attended. I began looking for him at these powwow events over the next year and luckily ran into him a few times. I would take " creeper photos" of him, pictures he didn't realize I was taking. These pictures got added to my "shrine of Gary" to fuel my crush. The next year at camp, Gary had volunteered for our camping program and was one of our counselors. I tried to convince him to dance with me in his regalia at the camp talent show, but he did not have his regalia and he turned me down, hard. I continued to crush on him, but after that year we didn't really run into each other as often. But we kept in touch over social media. Every so often over the years we would touch base, and it was during one of those check ins that the stars aligned and we were both single. We began chatting over text and we arraigned a time to hang out and I made the drive to Cleveland which was one of the best days of my life. The beginning of our love story with my life long crush!
