Excellence El Carmen

This is a five-star adult-only all-inclusive resort. We are in an Excellence Club-Swimout Honeymoon Suite with an Ocean View. If you decide to join us, getting an Excellence Club room is worth the money as you have access to all the pools versus one or two, additional restaurants & bars, and access to the private beach portion and other perks. We did not reserve a block of rooms as we did not know how many were going and how long each of you would stay. There are three Excellence resorts, make sure you have selected Excellence El Carmen and not Excellence Punta Canta or Excellence Finest Punta Canta.

Dominican Airport Transfers (DAT) Shuttle

You will need to arrange a shuttle transfer to and from the hotel before your arrival. It is best to do so in advance. It is also a better option to do the shared transfer versus private transfer due to costs. There are many good shuttle services, and we've had a good experience with Amstar, too!

Travel Safety

Please consider only using carry-on bags when traveling. There are many reports of items being stolen out of bags when checking them in; this is just not in the Dominican Republic but in other places. Do not bring valuables with you.

Tipping at All-Inclusives

If you have never been to an all-inclusive, please bring plenty of cash to tip your servers, assistants, etc.; the better the service, the better the tip. They will keep checking on you if you are consistent.
