What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30pm on October 4th, so we request that guests arrive by 5pm to ensure that everyone is seated and ready for us to say, “I do!"

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! There is a large open parking area to the right behind the Red Lion Inn. There is also considerable street parking.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Unfortunately, we’re unable to accommodate transportation to and from hotels due to the fact that out-of-town guests will be staying at a number of different locations around the area. Fortunately, there is considerable parking at the venue, so if you’re renting a car you will be able to park right on site when you come for the ceremony!

What is the order of festivities?

Answer

Start time: 5:00pm -Ceremony -Cocktail hour -Plated dinner -Drinks, dancing, and marry-ment! End time: 11pm

Can I bring a date?

Answer

While we've made every effort to allow guests to bring significant others, our venue has limitations in terms of the number of guests that can safely be accommodated in the barn. Because we’re not able to offer every guest the option to bring a date, we’ve specified plus-one’s on individual invitations. If you’re unsure whether or not we’ve been able to accommodate a plus-one for you specifically, please feel free to reach out to us directly through our wedding email (garvinballouwedding@gmail.com)!

Are kids welcome?

Though we can’t make any guarantees, we will do all that we can to include your child in our special day provided that we have advanced notice. If you would like your child to attend, please reach out to us directly through our wedding email (garvinballouwedding@gmail.com).

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We encourage semi-formal or dressy casual attire for our wedding! We recognize this can be a pretty vague category, so in case additional guidance would be useful, we’ve included this excerpt from Brides Magazine: "Women can wear below-the-knee dresses, shorter cocktail dresses, slip dresses, a dressy skirt and top, or an elegant pantsuit (styled with heels, nice wedges, or formal flats). As for men, opt for a dress shirt and slacks, with the option to wear a tie."
