Shortly after moving to Long Beach, I transferred to a Starbucks store in Huntington Beach next to Calvary Chapel of the Harbour. It was a Tuesday night while working the drive thru, and a customer, Erik, orders a black coffee at the speaker. When he pulled up and I saw his face for the first time, I already was thinking to myself how handsome he was! I welcomed him with a big smile and asked him what he was doing that night. He told me he was going to Bible Study at the church next door, and my heart lit up! We talked for 20 minutes about our faith, our families, work, and not one car came into my drive thru line the entire time! I then attended church that Sunday morning and walked up to Erik and asked him if he remembered me. He was a little hesitant at first and then recognized me . I tried to get him to take me out to lunch that afternoon, however, he went home to watch golf instead. He came into my Starbucks store a few more times, (still didn’t ask me for my number or a date) and I finally came from behind the counter to show him that I was interested. He finally asked for my number and took me out on our first date to Romano Cucina across the street. We went on 4 dates, but ended up not seeing each other for about 8 months. After, reconnecting in February 2022, we knew that there was still something there that The Lord was not done with yet. We started dating again and before we knew it, I was moving to Riverside to attend the Correctional Deputy Academy to work in a jail in August 2022. He thought he would never see me again. I called him every single night to tell him how my day went. While he was so supportive, it was hard not seeing each other for months at a time. After graduation, we spent more time together and I knew I was going to marry him. It was only a matter of time. When Christmas came around and we met each others families, that’s when he knew he was going to marry me too. March 29, 2023, Erik takes me to dinner where we had our first date at Romano Cucina and the same table we sat on our first date. Erik then started to tell me how much he loved me and how great it’s been spending time with me, growing closer together in the Lord and with each other. He spoke about how much of a blessing it’s been finding a partner to share life with and ultimately that he didn’t want to spend his life with anyone else. Then he pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes! We’re so excited to share this special time of our lives with you and can’t wait to see you on our wedding day! See you then!
