When does the ceremony begin?

The ceremony will begin at 6:30 PM on the back lawn of the Crooked River Lodge. We recommend arriving 20–30 minutes early.

Where will the ceremony and reception take place?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors on the back lawn of the Crooked River Lodge. The reception will take place under a tent following the ceremony.

What is the dress code?

Answer

For men, jackets or blazers are not required, but certainly welcome. Yes, it is summer — but shorts and flip flops are not appropriate. For women, sundresses, cocktail-length dresses, or dressy separates are perfect. We recommend comfortable footwear suitable for grass.

Is the wedding outdoors?

Answer

Yes. The ceremony and reception will be outdoors. Evenings in Northern Michigan can be cool, so a light jacket or wrap is encouraged.

Are children welcome?

Yes — children are welcome to attend and celebrate with us. Please note that alcohol will be served throughout the evening, and we kindly ask that parents supervise their children at all times.

Yes. Parking is available (and free) on site at the lodge.

Are pets allowed at the hotel?

Yes. Crooked River Lodge allows pets on the first floor only, and a pet deposit is required. Please contact the hotel directly for availability and details.

Yes. The Crooked River Lodge offers its guests a continental breakfast each morning.

What will be served at the reception?

Answer

The reception will begin with a cocktail hour featuring hors d’oeuvres, followed by a buffet-style dinner with three entrée options: chicken, fish, or pork. Wedding cake and an assortment of desserts will be served to close the evening. A full bar will be available throughout the reception.

What happens after the reception?

After the wedding festivities conclude, we invite everyone to continue the celebration at the “Happily Ever After Party” next door at Garrick’s family home. Yes — it truly is right next door. You can walk across the lawn and you’ll be in Gary’s backyard!
