We first met in 2014 on Martha's Vineyard at a FOCUS summer program, but the only thing we remember about each other was the height difference. In the summer of 2017, we ran into each other on Martha's Vineyard again, actually spoke, and became friends. When the summer was over, Garrett started hanging out with Virginia and her friends on the weekends. Garrett started asking Virginia on dates and Virginia kept saying no for a year, claiming it was better to be “just friends.” After realizing that he was a great friend (he drove an hour to help her move!), that he was not going to stop asking her out, and that dating a great friend could be great, she said yes. We had our first date on September 1, 2018. For the next year and a month, we shared backgammon, Seinfeld, the Avett Brothers, art & architecture, peanut butter jokes (ask us about the time Virginia's mom almost killed Garrett with peanut butter!), adventures, and most importantly, faith. We experienced the highs and lows of life and stayed together. Garrett surprised Virginia when he proposed on October 13, 2019, at one of our favorite places by the water in Greenwich — Tod’s Point. We thank everyone who has helped and supported us along our journey and we cannot wait to celebrate together. Shoutout to God for making this all possible!
