Portland
Visit Maine's largest city. Portland has the highest number of restaurants per capita in the country, and is known for it's shopping, culture and abundance of impossibly good food ! Also located in Portland is the Portland Headlight, which is the most photographed lighthouse in the United States! Some of our favorite spots to eat include: Duckfat (amazing Belgian french fries, sandwiches and milkshakes) Central Provisions (small plates & cocktails) Hot Suppa (Southern food, one of our favorite breakfast spots!) Flatbread Company (woodfired pizzas, organic ingredients, great vegan options) Boda (modern Thai food - delicious!) These are just a few options, but there are so many more great places! Enjoy exploring!
Brunswick
Brunswick has a wicked cute Main street to walk around on! Some favorite spots to eat include: Shere Punjab (Indian food, we eat here so often that they know our orders!) Portland Pie (excellent pizza, also great vegan options) Wild Oats Bakery (some of the best cakes around! They also offer really yummy soups, sandwiches and other treats) Frontier (an eclectic restaurant with tons of delicious vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options) Little Tokyo (one of Garrett's favorite spot for sushi- I'm not a sushi fan so I usually opt for a delicious stir fry) Sea Dog Brewery (hands down the best Sunday brunch around! I also love their fish'n'chips, and there are plenty of Lobster options for any fans out there!)
Acadia National Park
Visiting Acadia National Park is either a long a day trip or a relaxing two day trip, so if you have some extra time in the area- I'd absolutely recommend taking the time to visit! There are options to hike to the top of Cadillac Mountain, or you can take a nice drive through the park using the Park Loop trail. After spending time in the park, I'd suggest grabbing lunch in Bar Harbor, a picturesque New England town located near the park.
Maine State Music Theatre
We absolutely love to see musicals whenever we have the time. We actually had our first date seeing Sister Act at this theater! If you're interested in some entertainment, MSMT is showing Bye Bye Birdie, Saturday Night Fever, and Singin' in the Rain during late July and August.
Popham Beach State Park
Our favorite beach! Admission fees are $8 per adult.
