Officiant
Adam is actually the reason Garrett and Rebecca are together, as he re-texted Rebecca through Garrett’s Hinge (dating app) after she ghosted him. Adam works at McKinsey in NYC (actually, Jersey City) and first met Garrett outside a Red Cross tent at 1 AM in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Since then, there have been many late nights together from Milwaukee to Manhattan to Shanghai.
Carley Maples
Sister of the Groom
Carl - the youngest of the Maples class and also Chief Keep-Garrett-Humble Officer. A proud Aggie, dog mom, and nurse at Cook's Children's hospital in Fort Worth. Ask her about the correct order to watch Marvel movies in and Harry Styles' best acting performance to date.
Taylor Maples
Sister of the Groom
Oldest Maples kid and definitely the globetrotter and trail blazer of the family. Shaped Garrett's taste in music through endless Limewire downloads, took the leap to Chicago after attending A&M (inspiring Garrett to move outside of Austin), and is always down for a last minute weekend trip. Taylor is engaged to Kevin and is getting married exactly six months after Garrett and Rebecca, in March 2024.
Emily Russell Montañez
The Party
Rebecca and Emily met in late 2016 while interviewing for an internship at ExxonMobil, and the rest is history. Roommates multiple times until Emily abandoned Rebecca for Beaumont. Loves Lilly Pulitzer, is actively trying to book any Taylor Swift concert she can across Europe, and is providing Rebecca critical wedding planning tips from her own wedding in 2021.
Justin Truong
The Party
Basically Rebecca’s brother, except he was born halfway around the world (in Saigon) and to different parents. Justin and Rebecca met at Exxon in 2018 and have since become inseparable. Loves motorcycles, national parks, house decor, soups, the Navy and international relations. Is late even to his own parties, so we’ll see if he gets to the wedding on time.
Victoria Potter
The Party
A distant relative of the ExxonMobil dynasty, Garrett & Victoria met first at a refinery in the glamorous oasis of Beaumont, TX under the heat of a Coker unit. They made the great pilgrimage to McKinsey Houston together, where a friendship based on political debates, piano bars, and capitalism grew like a weed.
Cameron Speegle
The Party
One of the many Aggies on this lineup. With a friendship dating back to 4th grade, Cameron has the deepest bench of cringey Garrett stories - so ask away! Garrett & Cameron have criss-crossed the country in road trips and have more inside jokes than people who are willing to listen to them.
Kristen Schaack
The Party
Originally from Philly and currently in Jersey City. Can have a conversation with anyone and always makes you feel included. Married to Adam and in charge of proofreading the officiant speech.
John Merkovsky
The Party
Took the baton as Chief Risk Officer when he became Garrett's roommate at business school. Whether at 7AM or 2 AM, John is always down for a political debate on the topics of the day. He flows effortlessly between workout classes and Miami night clubs (as long as he gets 45 mins to stretch his back out). An all around A+ guy and makes anyone feel like the center of the conversation.
Shannon Haas
The Party
While Garrett and John became instant friends at business school, so did Rebecca and Shannon. She’s always down for a hike or a brewery - preferably both - and she has the best Halloween costumes. Currently learning Spanish from the other nurses in Miami and planning her and John’s wedding for January of next year.
Prerna Kamnani
The Party
Yet another Aggie and the one on this lineup who has known Rebecca the longest. From Thursday nights at the Dixie Chicken in CStat to many late nights at Tijuana Picnic in NYC, she’s always down for a good time. And from big consulting to big banks, she is running NYC.
Sarah Szot Murphy

Another former member of the ExxonMobil dynasty. Her diverse list of interests includes cars, hikes, photography, playing basketball, cocktails and West Texas. A new mom to beautiful little Stella - and, of course, her golden retriever Grizzly.
Kaci French
The Party
A fellow band nerd from UT (ask her what she played) Kaci was the only stable, mature influence on Garrett throughout college. She's the only person who can study for the MCAT for 12 hours then party for 6. Also in NY, Kaci spends her time at either bottomless brunch or endless residency hours.
