Garrett and Mykal met in the typical way that people meet these days...on Bumble. They both swiped right, Mykal sent Garrett an intriguing message ("Tell me your most unpopular opinion"), they talked for a week, had their first date at Pins arcade bar on August 16th 2024, and have been together (literally and figuratively) ever since. They did long distance, trying to alternate Mykal driving to Beavercreek and Garrett driving to Columbus every other weekend, for the first 7 months of their relationship. Once Mykal's lease was up in March 2025, she packed up and moved to Beavercreek, Ohio. On April 5th 2025 they adopted Haley from the Vet Tech program Mykal was in at Columbus State Community College, and she has kept them on their toes every since. They celebrated their 1 year anniversary and moved to Dublin, OH at the end of August. While they were packing up their apartment in Beavercreek they went to the mall and happened to look at engagement rings - this is where they found the ring Garrett proposed with! Garrett had the ring for a month before proposing in front of Mykal's family on October 19th, when she "swiped right" again by saying yes 😉
