It started with a terrible first date on a Tuesday night in November 2015. Miranda was late (like always) and Garrett was sick. The conversation was uncharacteristically formal (some might even say like a job interview. ) Even the cute ambiance of the wine bar in which we were sitting couldn't turn the night around. Following an awkward side-hug goodbye, Miranda surprised herself by asking him out that Friday. Garrett surprised himself by saying yes. Thankfully the second, third, and fourth dates went much better, and the rest is history! The past four years have had their share of ups and downs. Between dating long distance, Miranda being in medical school and Garrett in grad school, we have learned to communicate and support each other's dreams while achieving our own. We have shared adventures and a ton of sassy comments. Now, we're hotter by two degrees, and ready (Garrett would say "passionate") to build a life together. We can't wait share our special day with you!

We were in San Francisco to see our favorite band, Delta Rae. After a beautiful fall morning drinking tea, walking along the pier and watching Virginia football, we headed to Golden Gate park with our dear friends, Jordan and Morgan. As we drove north, the signature San Francisco fog rolled in, and Garrett had to change plans to find a good location - settling on the Black Sands Beach in the Marin Headlands. Once we arrived, we started walking down the beach. Miranda then noticed Jordan following them with a camera, and Garrett's cover was blown. Garrett led her to a private spot on the beach where he got down on one knee and tearfully asked her to take on the world with him. Before she could say yes, a wave soaked Garrett's pant leg, which pretty much characterizes Garrett's role in the relationship. At least he tries. Delta Rae dedicated a song to us later that night to cap off a perfect weekend!
