A wedding weekend is just how it sounds, we'd love to celebrate with you all weekend long! We know that schedules are difficult, but we hope you'll be able to arrive on the 6th and stay until the 8th. We'll have plenty to keep you busy all that time (as you can see on the schedule tab), starting with the Welcome Dinner on Friday evening and then rolling into lots of fun camp activities Saturday morning. We won't be offended of course if you can only join us for the big event on Saturday, but we hope you'll consider making a weekend of it.
Good question. We don't know yet! Once we know who all of our Campers are we will do our best to put family and friend groups together so everyone is comfortable. You're also welcome to indicate who you'd like to stay with when you sign up on Eventbrite. That being said, we can't guarantee you won't be with some people you don't know - but that's kind of the idea!
No. We will be providing food for all meals Friday dinner through Sunday brunch, as well as some light snacks. However, bringing some extra snacks never hurt anybody, and we won't be stocking cabins with food so if you are a picky eater or might want a midnight snack, it would be good to have a few things handy.
There are three modes of Camp dress: Camp Comfy: Think what you'd wear at camp. T-shirts, shorts, a hat, oodles of sunscreen, sunglasses, whatever feels right based on the temperature. Camp Casual: Jeans or slacks and collared shirts for men. Sundresses, rompers, jeans for the ladies. Basically whatever you'd wear to a nice BBQ. Camp Formal: Garrett is insisting on wearing a tuxedo (how often do you get to be black tie at a summer camp?) and Leona will obviously be in a stunning wedding dress. If you want to black tie, we'd be honored. If you don't, just come in your best. With all of these, we highly recommend comfortable footwear. Even with Camp Formal - we will need to traverse some uneven ground, so ladies leave the stilettos at home.
Camp Puh'Tok has limited parking. If you are staying at camp and arriving by plane or train, we recommend arranging a ride with someone else you know has a car, or taking a taxi or rideshare to Camp. Based on some research it looks like an Uber from Camp to BWI will take 45-60 minutes and cost $60. If you are not staying at Camp, we will have a shuttle from our two hotels to the Camp prior to the ceremony and reception with return service later in the evening. We would strongly prefer that you use the shuttle as there is limited parking and the Google Maps directions do not make finding the ceremony site simple.
The cabins are way nicer than any cabin we ever stayed in at camp! They have ensuite bathrooms (hot and cold running water), electricity and AC/heat. They are definitely cabins though, with bunk beds sleeping 8-15 people per cabin.
That's fine! We've booked limited blocks of rooms at the Delta Hotels Hunt Valley and the Residence Inn Hunt Valley. See all the info in the "Travel" tab. If those are full or aren't your speed there are many hotel options and Airbnbs nearby. You can certainly stay at a hotel and still join us for all the activities at camp.
If you aren't able to arrive during the designated time you are still of course welcome on Friday, just let us know so that we can arrange for late check-in while the festivities are already underway.
We are very sad to say that Camp Puh'Tok does not allow dogs, so all four legged friends will have to stay at home for the weekend. We wish it weren't so!
