FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions we have encountered, if you have any other questions, you can contact Garrett at 530.520.6310.
Question

How far is Tahoe from the airport? Will I need to rent a car?

Answer

The Reno-Tahoe International airport (RNO) is just under an hour drive from Tahoe. The Sacramento International airport (SMF) is about a 2 hour drive from Tahoe. Both offer car rental services.

Question

Can I bring my dog(s)?

Answer

Dogs are not allowed at the church ceremony, but we are delighted to say they will be allowed at our reception if you wish to bring them!

Question

Where should we stay during our trip?

Answer

Garrett recommends camping, but if it gets too cold for you at night or if you need better amenities, there are numerous hotels and resorts at various price ranges! Either way, both fill up fast so please be proactive! There is a document of the "Travel" page created by Gary Kemp with lots more details.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Great question! I (Kelsea) know how confusing it can be to find an outfit for an event when you aren't sure what the dress code is or what other people will be wearing. Here are some tips that might help: 1. The dress code is semi-formal. We want you to have fun dressing up but no need to find an extravagant gown or tux. 2. Consider the weather, and pay attention to the forecast leading up to the wedding. It will likely be warm during the day and cool off in the evening. It might be a good idea to bring a sweater. 3. Remember that the ceremony will take place in a church. I would recommend avoiding dresses that are very short or have cutouts, but sleeveless is A-okay. 4. Dress kids in whatever they will be comfortable in. I love little tiny suits but its going to be a long day and I want you and your family to have fun. 5. Don't forget your dancing shoes!

Question

Should I eat before I come?

Answer

Definitely eat breakfast before you head to the ceremony. You might notice the schedule of events is a little spread out, in part because of travel time. We will have snacks and drinks available at the reception site upon your arrival. We will eat dinner around 4:30 pm.

Question

Where should I send gifts?

Answer

Your presence is a gift! However, if you choose to gift something more, please only bring cards to the wedding because we will probably not be able to bring larger items home with us to Maryland. If you order a gift through the registry on this website, you can be sure it will go to the right place. If you choose to send a gift outside of the registry, please reach out to us for address info because we will be moving to a new house in early May.
