Garrett and I are college sweethearts. We met at UCSC during our freshman year of college and took a math class together our sophomore year. It was then we started to get close and we got together during the summer of 2014! We've been together for 9 years now and by the time of the wedding, it'll be our 10th year together. However, not all that time we were physically together. After college, I decided to go to pharmacy school in Michigan. Therefore, we survived 4 years of long distance. In my last year of pharmacy school, Garrett proposed on National Cat Day on August 8th, 2020, and then I was matched at a pharmacy residency program in Olympia, WA where we decided to finally move in together. On July 30th, 2022, we signed the papers and have been officially married since then. We finally feel settled with our finances and careers and are excited to share our love with family and friends.
Judy and I met at college through mutual friends in our dorm, where I was on the rowdy floor above hers, the all-girls floor. I later learned her first impressions of me were that I was a tool (maybe partially true at the time)!. The parts of me that were more appealing seemed to have wooed her when we had the same math class our 2nd year. We started getting lunch before or after class and just talking more. Things really took a turn though when we were walking back from lunch one day and one of my roommates threw a bullet of an orange at me from our porch and I caught it one-handed. Apparently Judy thought, "wow - that was so cool!" (her words, not mine). We continued to keep talking throughout the year and went on our first dates in the spring/summer, being together for the rest of undergrad. After Santa Cruz, Judy went off to Michigan for Pharmacy school while I stayed in the bay area. Long distance was quite an experience but we managed the best we could. If there was anything positive that came from Covid it was that she was able to come home for an extended period of time. I decided to propose in August 2020 in Santa Cruz. Judy got matched to a pharmacy residency in Washington in 2021 and I decided to follow her there. We did a courthouse wedding in 2022 so I guess technically we are a PNW couple! We moved back to California at the end of 2023 and are so happy to be able to finally plan and organize a wedding to celebrate with everyone.
