Prospect Park
City goers may be familiar with Central Park in Manhattan, but Prospect Park in Brooklyn is a place we hold near and dear to our hearts. We spent MANY hours here going on walks and "park hangs" with friends during the pandemic. It's also the spot where John proposed to Garrett (see photo above)! We'd recommend entering the park at Grand Army Plaza and working your way in through the foot paths. The leaves are usually putting on a show in October should you want to witness some peak fall foliage views!
Brooklyn Heights Promenade
Arguably the best views of Manhattan from Brooklyn in one of the most historic and picturesque neighborhoods, Brooklyn Heights. We HIGHLY recommend carving out some time to take in these views and starting your walk North along the Promenade from the Remsen, Montague, or Pierrepont Street entrances. Bonus points if you walk down Montague and peep in the Brooklyn Cat Cafe - it's where we adopted both of our cats, Tom and Bruce!
Brooklyn Museum
For those who dabble in the arts! New York City's second largest museum with over 500,000 artifacts. Worth a trip if time permits!
Brooklyn Botanic Garden
For those who want to take their NYC fall foliage viewing to the next level. We LOVE the Botanic Garden - located directly next to the Brooklyn Museum.
River Deli
An incredibly charming Italian restaurant in Brooklyn Heights where John took Garrett on their third date :) The lasagna dish is our favorite. Great for brunch, lunch, or dinner!
Colonie
Delicious restaurant serving American fare - great for brunch, lunch, or dinner!
Elsa
Incredible cocktail bar with Instagram-worthy digs + an outdoor back patio. John took Garrett here on one of their earlier dates and she was quite impressed.
Blueprint
For those who plan on exploring a bit of Park Slope - Blueprint is an amazing cocktail bar and also happens to be where John and Garrett met for their first date. Needless to say, things went well.
Threes Brewing Gowanus
One of our favorite breweries in the neighborhood and where we went on our second date. If you like craft beer and a delicious fried chicken sandwich this is the spot for you.
