Garrett and Fiona's love story began at work. They interacted frequently on similar projects and shared a network of friends and colleagues in the office. They discovered that they shared a passion for food, travel, and adventure (to list a handful) and have healthy differences as well. Naturally they started dating, fell in love, and the rest is history!
After years of dating and realizing they love their life together, Fiona took the initiative to pick out a ring and asked the salesperson to e-mail it to Garrett. Shortly after, Garrett went to the store, ordered the ring, and picked it up excited to propose to his bride. Shortly before Valentine’s Day, Garrett invited Fiona to a picnic in Eleanor Tinsley park, hired a photographer to blend into the crowd to capture the moment, and invited his parents to celebrate following the proposal. It was the most nervous he’s ever been, and frankly the words he used when he dropped to one knee were pretty terrible. But she instinctively said “yes” to whatever inarticulate question was asked and now they’re getting married in New Zealand – and they cannot wait to celebrate with each of you when they return.
Their wedding is a dream come true. They’re going to New Zealand to elope. They’re taking a helicopter to the top of a mountain in Queenstown to get married in a private ceremony, and then enjoying their honeymoon for 2 weeks as they explore New Zealand as husband and wife. They cannot wait to get married and enjoy a vacation together doing all the things they love to do together, plus new adventures such as scuba diving and bungee jumping. Wish them luck!
When they return, they are hosting a party at Kim and Melody Meyer’s beautiful home on the lake (address and logistics included in the invite). For most of Garrett’s life, many major celebrations and holidays have taken place here so it’s only fitting to continue the tradition and invite a special group of friends and loved ones to party on the lake. They are looking forward to seeing all of you, joining groups from all areas of Garrett and Fiona’s life into one place to celebrate their recent union. They want to add a special call-out to Fiona’s parents for traveling all the way from China to celebrate with them – so happy to have her parents in town after a complicated several years of travel restrictions. Garrett and Fiona are thrilled to merge their families into one. Please refer to the logistics page for details on parking and hotels. Gift is not required, however a registry is put together for anyone who would like to bring a gift. It is encouraged to book a hotel nearby and Uber to the party in order to make this a care-free and safe evening for all. Looking forward to seeing you all!
