Discover Downtown Maryville 💍- Downtown Maryville holds a special place in our hearts — it’s where we got engaged and where we’ll celebrate our reception at the beautiful Capitol Theatre! This charming downtown is full of local favorites and small-town warmth. Take a stroll along the Greenbelt Park trail, grab a coffee, or pop into some of the local shops — Emma’s favorite day includes a coffee from Southern Grace and a stop by Neighborly Books, a cozy independent bookstore perfect for a quiet browse. For those looking to unwind, Garrett recommends Two Doors Down and Brackins Tavern for great drinks and live music. With its mountain views, friendly faces, and a touch of our own love story, Downtown Maryville is truly the heart of our celebration.

Visit Our Alma Mater! - If you have some free time while you’re in town, we highly recommend a visit to The University of Tennessee in nearby Knoxville — our beloved alma mater! Take a stroll through the beautiful campus, stop by Neyland Stadium to see where the Vols play, or walk along Volunteer Boulevard and The Hill for a dose of campus charm. Don’t miss a stop at Torchbearer Plaza for a great photo op and a peek at UT’s iconic symbol of service and spirit. Go Vols! 🧡

Drive the Foothills Parkway 🌄- For one of the most breathtaking views in East Tennessee, take a scenic drive along the Foothills Parkway, just minutes from Maryville. Winding through the rolling hills at the edge of the Smokies, this route offers panoramic mountain overlooks, perfect photo spots, and peaceful pull-offs to take in the view. It’s a beautiful, relaxing way to experience the natural beauty that makes this area so special — especially at sunset!

Wander Through Cades Cove 🌿- For a true taste of Smoky Mountain beauty, take a scenic drive through Cades Cove, one of our favorite spots in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This peaceful valley is surrounded by mountain views and filled with wildlife — you might spot deer, wild turkeys, or even a black bear or two! The 11-mile loop road winds past historic cabins, churches, and meadows that look straight out of a postcard. Whether you drive, bike, or stop for a picnic, Cades Cove is a must-see while you’re in East Tennessee — it’s the perfect place to slow down, breathe in the mountain air, and enjoy the beauty that makes this area so special.

You’ll find lively restaurants, boutique shops, and often live music or events happening in the square. Grab brunch on a patio, enjoy an evening cocktail under the string lights, or simply wander and people-watch — it’s one of our favorite places to spend time when we’re in the city!

Pigeon Forge & Dollywood

Adventure in Pigeon Forge & Dollywood 🎢 - If you’re looking for a little extra fun during your stay, head about 45 minutes from Maryville to Pigeon Forge, home to Dollywood and countless attractions for all ages. Spend a day riding roller coasters, watching live music, or tasting Southern favorites at Dolly Parton’s famous theme park. While you’re there, we recommend grabbing a meal at our favorite local spot, Huck Finn’s Catfish Cabin, for the best Southern comfort food around. We also love exploring the Alcatraz East Crime Museum, where you can see fascinating pieces of history — including O.J. Simpson’s white Bronco and Ted Bundy’s Volkswagen Beetle. With so much to do, Pigeon Forge is the perfect place to make a few unforgettable memories while you’re here in East Tennessee!

Stroll along the downtown strip for local shops, cozy pancake houses, and mountain-town charm, or take a ride on the Ober Mountain Aerial Tramway for breathtaking views. It’s also home to fun attractions like the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park and Anakeesta, where you can walk among the treetops or enjoy a cocktail with a view.
