Started From Tinder Now We’re Here!

Finding love on a dating app seems like the plot of your typical romantic comedy movie but it’s real life for some. While neither of us signed up for Tinder with the hopes of finding our future spouse that’s exactly the way it turned out. Destiny had just moved to Greenville following her graduation from Clemson and took to Tinder to find friends in the area. Garrett, born and raised in Greenville, took to Tinder just to give it a shot. We “matched” late August 2017. At the time Destiny was a CNA at a local nursing home and Garrett was working a warehouse position. After texting back and forth Destiny wanted to make sure Garrett wasn’t a catfish, so she finally wanted to meet in person. With Garrett working first shift, and Destiny second shift their only option for meeting up was 11 o’clock at night over a Cookout milkshake. Garrett and Destiny were so immersed in each other’s conversation the next thing you know they were getting kicked out since Cookout was closing. A few days later Garrett and Destiny decided to go out again. Destiny being the foodie she is suggested Miyabi’s but they were able to settle on Wild Wings. Another outing with great conversation because once again they were getting kicked out as Wild Wings was closing. The two kept in close contact and began to grow very fond of each other, however; Destiny was adamant about only wanting friends and nothing more. Garrett being the determined person he is stayed consistent despite Destiny’s “no”. Fast forward to November 13th of 2017, after returning from a trip to Pigeon Forge, Garrett and Destiny were discussing their Thanksgiving plans and sadly Destiny planned to stay local and see what restaurants would be open since she had to work. Garrett explained to Destiny she could join his family for dinner but only as his girlfriend. The rest was history! (I promise it wasn’t because of the food 😂). The past four years have been full of fun, laughter, goofiness, traveling, hosting, and making memories to last a lifetime. Christmas Day 2021 Garrett finally popped the big question and of course Destiny said YES!! Now on their five year anniversary, November 13th, 2022 they get to say the big I do in front of close family and friends.
