We've waited a decade to share our love story with you all! We can't wait to celebrate!

It all started at the Tiki Bar pool towards the end of the summer. Garrett was hanging with some friends that Dawn already knew. They all quickly got to know one another after poking fun at the Steelers towel one of the friends had. Fast forward a few weeks and Dawn and Garrett ran into each other at a bar. They spent the night finding similarities of people that were at the bar to different celebrities. It became a running inside joke since Garrett has always been linked to resemble Tom Hanks. Garrett invited Dawn back to his apartment to watch Napoleon Dynamite and they became pretty inseparable after that.

We have spent our entire relationship soaking up the beauty in the world. Our first trip together was in March of 2011 to Arizona. Since then we've been to Myrtle Beach, Chicago, different parts of Florida, Vegas, Jamaica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Utah, California, Tennessee and New Orleans. We're hoping to add to this list as husband and wife.

People still bring this up when we haven't seen them in a while. Yes, Dawn came home from work while a squirrel was running around in the house eating sugar free muffins. Yes, Garrett did try to scare it with a rake. It's a thing. Just Google Squirrely Suspect on channel 19 and see for yourself. 🤣

It was 5 days before Christmas and Dawn celebrated with pajama day at work. They went to dinner and came back to watch 'It's A Wonderful Life" by the fire. It's a tradition for them to watch it every year. About 20 minutes into the movie Garrett asked Dawn if she wanted to open one of her Christmas gifts. He said that it would match her pajamas and help with how chilly it was in the basement. She opened it to find a pair of red and black buffalo check socks. He told her to check inside the socks and she found a ring box. As she opened the box, Garrett took his top shirt off to reveal a shirt he had made that said "So...I have a question for you?" He then got down on one knee and gave a nervous, beautiful speech about him asking her dad's permission and how he thought her Pops would approve of him asking for her hand in marriage. She got so caught up in the emotion of it all, she was crying before realizing she didn't even give an answer. She said YES!!! and Garrett pulled a bottle of champagne and 2 glasses out of the mini fridge. He then grabbed his go-pro out to reveal he recorded the whole thing!
