Are the cabins at Big Ridge State Park available?

Answer

Unfortunately, the cabins on the park are all under construction, and wont be available until next year. Please visit the Where to Stay tab for hotels and airbnbs.

Will there be alcohol at the Reception?

Answer

No, we have decided to go alcohol-free for our wedding. Thank you for understanding.

Are Children invited?

Answer

Yes children are welcome. Please keep in mind that our venue is very close to the park lake and their is a hill below the Rec Hall, so keep an eye out.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4 PM. Please arrive no later than 3:30.

What is the dress code?

Answer

We are going semi-formal to Dressy Casual. It will be later afternoon in July and the Ceremony will be outside so plan the dress attire accordingly. Please no Jeans or Flips Flops.

Is there parking?

Answer

There is limited parking next to the venue. The park recommends the overflow parking lot which has stairs and a bridge over to the Rec Hall and the Main parking lot which is by the Visitor Center and farther away. We recommend car pooling to avoid using the Main parking lot.

What is seating like?

Answer

The ceremony will be held at the Rec Hall Amphitheater. This is a grass and stone lined area so it is recommended to bring a blanket or other arrangement to be more comfortable during the ceremony.
