Garret grew up in southern California, who loved the outdoor California lifestyle and dreamed of breaking into show business in Los Angeles. Carly dreamt of breaking out of Minnesota’s cold winters by moving to a state that provided sunshine 12 months out of the year. Our stories bring us to the ocean, to Malibu, and the California dream that we both pursued and that is what we want to share with you on our big day at the Bel Air Bay Club in the Pacific Palisades, California. Carly and Garret first met at Garret’s cousin, Paige’s, beach birthday party on Labor Day Weekend in 2018. Carly was visiting from Arizona with friend, Annie, crashing said birthday party. We had an instantaneous attraction for each other and spent time together surfing later that weekend. Our relationship truly blossomed after Carly was accepted into DPT school where she moved to LA full time one year later in 2019 into an apartment with Garret’s cousin, Paige. Our first “date” was a hike in Malibu and lunch at Neptune’s Net, a short drive from the wedding venue on Garret’s birthday. Throughout COVID, we shared our love for the outdoors through surfing, hiking, and biking the coast. Through all of the quality time we spent together we mutually realized that our love was grounded by shared common values – faith, family, and a love of adventure. Carly met Garret's big Italian family in Buffalo, NY, and miraculously decided she still wants to do this. Garret met Carly's tight knit family and was immediately brought into a welcoming Midwest home. Garret proposed to Carly in Santorini, Greece... on an island against the backdrop of the ocean. It's in a similar setting that we plan to be married at in 2024. There are several locations that are dear to us and are important to our relationship story that we have listed on our website.
