It all started with a Friendsgiving trip to Colorado in 2019. Grant went to visit some friends and happened to meet Mariah. After they both sang Disney karaoke well into the night Grant knew this was something special! We spent 4 months talking and sneaking weekend trips to visit each other. Mariah, with Grant's upcoming 9 month deployment, and against all common sense, finally agreed to make things official! *(it only took Grant asking 4 times) Luckily for the two of us Mariah got "stuck" in North Carolina for two wonderful months during the height of the COVID Pandemic, and we got two incredible months together before Grant had to leave for deployment. After only crying a few times... Grant... was able to say goodbye to Mariah and the United States for 9 hard months of facetime dates and incredible care packages from Mariah. We reunited again in February 2021 and decided to do something else crazy... Move in together as Grant was being transferred to the Washington DC area. Mariah finished her Masters and became a 3rd grade teacher in Virginia, and Grant became a Captain in the Army meaning that we would have to move again for Grants 6 month training in Georgia. After calling his brother Chase and Mariah's sister Mercedes and a measly panic attack picking out a ring by himself, Grant surprised Mariah at a winery and asked her to Marry him! (It didn't take him asking four times for her to say yes this time) As for our current adventure we bought our first fixer upper in Anchorage Alaska where Grant is working on base, Mariah is teaching 2nd grade and Oliver... well he's just happy to finally have a yard and to not be hot. We cannot wait to celebrate our Wedding and bring in the New Year with our Friends Family and Loved ones! -12/31/2023
