Downtown SLO
Downtown SLO has it all! 15+ bars for nighttime enjoyment, many fantastic restaurants, endless shopping experiences, movie theaters, etc! All of it within walking distance. ALSO, downtown SLO is where the Jack House (wedding venue) is located! Downtown SLO has many sentimental memories tied to it. Haley lived with her family within walking distance from downtown when she was very young. Garett and Haley would get dropped off for dates downtown early in their relationship- movies and farmers markets; as well as many dinners before prom were spent in this area.
Montana De Oro State Park
Scenic spot for hikers, beach goers, and all-around outdoors enthusiasts! Near Haley's childhood home. One of our favorite places to hike and go on walks with family and friends.
Embarcadero
Beachfront shops and world class restaurants. Enjoy kayaking, spotting otters and seals, and a relaxing walk on the beach. Direct access to the famous Morro Bay Rock! This Embarcadero is directly next to Morro Bay High School where Haley and Garett met and started dating. Growing up, this was Garett's beach of choice to explore with family and friends.
Avila Beach
If you are planning on visiting the beach during your stay, we recommend Avila beach. It is one of the warmer beaches on the Central Coast. Its close to Sycamore Mineral Springs (fun hot tubs that require reservations), and Avila Valley Barn (a fun, family owned farm with tasty treats and animals). Growing up, this is where Haley spent many summers enjoying snow cones with her family and friends, as well as many fond memories of visits with her dad.
Hikes in San Luis Obispo County
Please take advantage of our beautiful hometown. Enjoy a hike, bike ride, or a kayak adventure! San Luis Obispo Hikes: -Bishops Peak (SLO favorite; about 4 mi.) -Cerra San Luis Trail (Hike to the M; 4 mi.) -Bob Jones trail (Near Avila Beach; 5 miles) Morro Bay Hike: -Black Hill (a little over .5 mi.) Los Osos Hikes: -Sand Dunes (bring something to sled down!) -Broderson Peak Trail (1.5 mi.) -Valencia Peak (killer hike, great views; 4.5 mi.) -Elfin Forest (a relaxing place to take a walk- Garett and Haley's first date spot, and where Garett proposed!)
