Luis and Natalia’s love story began at a small church called Bethel in Naples, Florida. Luis had just moved from Puerto Rico, while Natalia had been part of that church family since birth. They shared so many memories growing up—secretly holding hands, having sleepovers under the excuse that Natalia was best friends with Luis’s little sister, and even sharing their very first kiss at a young age. When Natalia was just 10 years old, her father—who is deeply missed today—was the Sunday school teacher for both the bride and the groom. After class, the children would often have outdoor playtime. It was during these moments that Natalia’s dad began to notice there was something special between her and Luis. Natalia would often share with him how much she liked Luis, her childhood crush. One afternoon, as they played near an old rusty slide, Natalia climbed onto her father’s back. In that sweet moment, she whispered a secret to him—that one day she wanted to marry Luis because she loved him so much.
