We consider ourselves college sweethearts, given how we met in 2018. At the time, Carlos was a sophomore at Texas Tech University, and I, Jessica, was a freshman when he decided to throw a get-together at his house. While waiting in line for the restroom, I decided to make conversation with the guy standing in front of me; little did I know that he would become the person I would marry exactly eight years later. A couple of weeks later, I decided to send him a message, and that is when we realized how naturally we connected. After our first date at the movies, where we watched a terrible movie, we started spending more and more time together, and soon after, we began dating. Getting into a serious relationship so early in our college years was never part of the plan, but we are so grateful that our paths crossed. Through our relationship, we have met so many incredible people whom we now consider family, and none of it would have happened if we hadn’t both ended up in that restroom line back in 2018.
