Brianna and Owen first met in their junior year in high school. They were both in the same college algebra class, and Brianna, not exactly a math whiz, quickly found herself needing help. Luckily, Owen, who had his sights set on becoming an accountant, was there to tutor her. With classes being virtual due to COVID, they ended up chatting a lot over FaceTime, which led Brianna’s family to start wondering if there was more to their friendship. Their answer? “No, we’re just friends.” Little did they know, they’d spend nearly a year as close friends before anything romantic started to develop. It wasn’t until the beginning of senior year that they realized how much they meant to each other. Though they were hesitant at first, they eventually admitted they had feelings for one another. What started out as a friendship with no expectations turned into something they both realized they couldn’t ignore. Over the next few years, they navigated milestones like homecoming, prom, graduation, and the challenge of long-distance during college. The past four years haven’t always been easy, but they’ve been full of rewarding moments. From their first date at Jefferson's Burger Joint to trips to New York, Miami, North Carolina, and Grand Cayman, to college dances and camping trips with Goober Grove, they’ve shared countless memories. Owen and Brianna are incredibly grateful for the time they’ve spent together — not just as partners, but as best friends.
