Garbo Tat

Bride

Garbo was born and raised in Sweden by her wonderful parents, Muoi and The To, and with her siblings Garyin, Garlli, and Chia Hao. After many happy years in the small town of Lönsboda, Sweden, her family came to the United States and settled in Los Angeles and their new home. After attending UCLA and graduating with a degree in Political Science and Scandinavian, she ended up working in intellectual property at a national law firm and starting her career with some great co-workers. An avid game and escape room enthusiast, she's got a partner in Nick who is always up for a challenge (they've never lost - that they'll admit). Ready to face the world and start a new life together, Garbo can't wait to be surrounded by the people she loves as she marries the man she loves.

Nick Zee-Cheng

Groom

Nick was born in Missouri, but was raised in Indiana with his loving parents, Chris and Barbara, and awesome siblings, Janine and Paul. After studying engineering and meeting some of his closest friends in Terre Haute, Indiana, Nick ended up packing up his car and heading west to Los Angeles to start a new job (which, thankfully, didn't have much engineering involved - he wasn't the best engineer). After moving a few times and finding a great group of friends (most also former mid-westerners), he settled into his new home and was lucky enough to find the woman he will spend his life with. With Garbo by his side, he's excited to start yet another new chapter and is excited to have his family and friends with him on his wedding day to celebrate!

Garlli Tat

Maid of Honor

Garlli is my youngest sister (of 4 years), and I can talk to her about absolutely everything and anything. We’ve since shared plenty of music festivals, concerts, shopping and horror movies. She’s also a very kind-hearted and a sensitive human being who does good in the world through her work as a social worker. She has an infectious laugh and can easily crack up at everything. Garlli loves to debate about anything and everything, so be sure to find her on the day if you’re up for a good conversation (that’s if you can keep up!)

Paul Zee-Cheng

Best Man

One thing that my father, Chi-Sung, said to me that always stands out was, no matter what, you always will have your siblings. And I am lucky enough to have the most supportive, thoughtful brother, Paul. Along with our loving sister, Paul and I have so many memories together, we often find ourselves confusing who did what when they were younger. Together we have both been through the hardest and happiest times, and Paul has had my back every step of the way, no matter what the situation is, even from across the country. One of the happiest days of my life was being with Paul when he was married, and I am happy and proud to have him by my side on my day as well.

Garyin Tat

Maid of Honor

Garyin is my younger sister, all-around amazing human being and has been there for me since I was 1 year old. She’s also one of the smartest and most practical people I know, graduating with an Economics degree from U$C and currently works for Edwards Lifesciences. Garyin loves her cats Patty and Bean and is an amazing financial advisor to me and I can ask her anything about 401k, Insurances, Health Savings Accounts, Roth IRAs, etc. Garyin has a great sense of humor and we can laugh about everything (including at our other siblings).

Will Foraker

Groomsman

I've known Will for a long time, a time too long to remember (and a few times we don't remember). After meeting in college at Rose-Hulman, Will and I began the decade long friendship through music, playing together at local bars with our fellow brother, Al. Even as we live across the country from each other, few things make me smile more than grabbing our instruments the once or twice a year we are able to play together and picking up right where we left off (although, he's the pro, so he's WAY better).

Clara Sam

Bridesmaid

I first met Clara at Alpha Gamma Sigma honor society at Pasadena City College (you'll see that I've met many lifelong friends from that one honor society) and I've known her over 10 years. With similar backgrounds (she also has 2 sisters and 1 brother; she also speaks Cantonese and we both went to UCLA), we have bonded through our many boba/shaved ice sessions, long conversations (way past midnight) and our love for food and board games. Clara is the most considerate, unselfish and friendliest person I know and the easiest person to talk to ever. I'm very lucky to be her lifelong friend and I know that she'll always be there for me as I'll always be there for her.

Chris Conley

Groomsman

Another fellow fraternity brother, I met Chris in college and have know him for over 13 years. After many years in the mid-west, before long, both of us found ourselves leaving the home state of Indiana and heading west in the same year. Despite being across the country, we stayed connected with our group of friends through yearly trips of golf, concerts, and mountain adventures, and I am happy to have this trivia-loving fool here with me.

Janine Zee-Cheng

Bridesmaid

Janine is not only my beautiful future sister-in-law, but she is also the best Escape Room teammate, board game teammate and Disney-planner ever. We share our love for escape rooms, board games, makeup and just silliness in general. Words cannot describe how much I admire her as she's a doctor, a mother of two, an artist, a crafty DIY-er (not a word), etc. She is simply good at everything (!). Nick is very lucky to have such a cool older sister and I'm honored to be able to call her my sister-in-law.

Chia Hao Tat

Groomsman

Garbo's brother Chia Hao is an overall fantastic person that i have grown to know over the last few years. Not only is Chia Hao a great escape room partner and game night competitor, Chia Hao definitely keeps me up on pop and recent culture, something Garbo definitely knows i nothing about! One of many aspects that I love about Garbo's family is how close her and her siblings are, and Chia Hao is no exception. Being a great brother to Garbo, Garlli, and Garyin, I am excited to have Chia Hao as a brother-in-law and continue to grow our relationship!

Joan Tibay

Bridesmaid

Joan has been my friend for over a decade now after meeting at Alpha Gamma Sigma honor society at Pasadena City College. Sharing a love for food and wine, we have also shared many many MANY girl-talks, screenshots and crazy TMI (Too Much Information) stories. Joan is one of the most beautiful people I know, both inside and out, and I couldn’t be happier to have her standing by my side on the big day. Her text messages and/or phone calls make my day any day and I love her passion for baking and music.

Samantha Pavlat

Groomswoman

I met Sam during my early years in Los Angeles. She has always been someone who I have shared long talks over whiskey and pizza, and has always been an open ear. She was one of the first people I talked to after I first met Garbo, and her early attempts at making me even moderately stylish surely helped make a good impression with my future wife.

Min Tao

Matron of Honor

Min is not only my cousin, but also one of my closest friends. From the moment she became my mom's goddaughter and the moment I was born, we have been playing together, cried together and laughed together. We’ve since shared our childhood love for the Backstreet Boys (and gone to several of their concerts as adults), I became her Maid-of-Honor at her beautiful and fun wedding and many fun board game nights at family gatherings. Min is like an older sister to me and a great role model. I strive to be like her both professionally and personally, as she is a smart cookie (earned her MBA from Pepperdine University), who can have fun and enjoy life at the same time!
