It all started when we matched online in 2011... we had never met in person during that time, but chatted here and there and remained social media friends. At one point Jacob added me on SnapChat and would randomly send me snaps. While I was a flight attendant based in Vegas, I got a pet hedgehog, Dixie. Dixie instantly became a hit on my snapchat stories and one day Jacob messaged me asking if she was a porcupine and if she was my emotional support animal when I worked. I thought he was funny so I decided to message back, and that's what started it all. For a year we dated long distance until I could get my transfer back to Arizona. We moved in together and our relationship really strengthened from there.
In September 2019, I surprised Jacob with the biggest news... I was pregnant! We wanted to find out the gender as soon as we could so we could do a "Name Reveal" with all our friends and family. We had discussed getting engaged by the end of the year before we found out we were pregnant, so Jacob began exploring different ways to propose. Before the name reveal, we had a sign made for the baby’s nursery with the name on it; our way of revealing to everyone the gender. The morning of the reveal, Jacob insisted on wrapping the sign, and I thought nothing of it, just that he wanted to be helpful. The moment came to open the sign, and as we both started to rip off the paper, I saw a onesie taped to the sign that said, “mommy will you marry my daddy?” Jacob then got on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of all our family and friends. I had absolutely no idea and was completely caught off guard. It was the most perfect way to start our forever.
