FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?/What will the weather be?

Answer

Semi-Formal. Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. There will be a Nuptial Mass, followed by dinner and dancing. Both the ceremony and reception will be indoors, with a short walk from your car in the parking lot to the entrances. Currently the forecast estimates it will be 53°-69°, with it being 68° at the time of the ceremony and the beginning of the reception, and 57° by the end of the night!

Question

How do I get to the reception?

Answer

Guests will need to carpool with a designated driver or use a ride share service, as it is 25-40 minutes away, depending on traffic. If you are from out of town, we recommend you get tolls to avoid unnecessary traffic!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Your invitation will indicate who is invited. Special care has been given to ensure that those traveling from out of state have a plus-one, or "travel-buddy." Should there be any confusion, please type in your name to the RSVP tab and it will provide you with more information.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

Pictures are welcome for the reception, but we have contracted a professional photographer to take pictures during the ceremony. As with any religious service, we ask that you participate with reverence and keep phones turned off and out of sight. Please take this opportunity to un-plug and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime event for the couple.

Question

This will be my first Catholic Mass/I am not Catholic. What can I expect?

Answer

The ceremony will last about an hour and will include moments of standing, sitting, and kneeling. Simply follow the directions of the priest or, if unsure, follow the lead of those around you. As with any religious service, we ask that you participate with reverence and keep phones off and out of sight. For guests who are not Catholic (including the Bride!), you are welcome to come forward, with your arms crossed over your chest, for a blessing during Communion instead of receiving the Eucharist. Please note that even if you are Christian but not Catholic, Church tradition asks that only confirmed Catholics receive Holy Communion.

Question

Do I have to buy something off the registry?

Answer

Your presence is more than enough, and the newlyweds will be more than delighted to have the gift of your presence! The registry is included only if you'd like to provide some things that are needed for their new life together. Should you choose to purchase something off the registry, the couple will be very grateful!
