How do we even begin summing up our last 7 years together? Honestly, a few paragraphs would not do our story justice. Our relationship has been one of happiness, laughter, some tears and a lot of learning! We have been together since we were 15 years old. From walking to classes together, to now navigating young- adulthood, it has been one crazy, yet amazing ride. It started when we became boyfriend and girlfriend while at a friends bonfire after a Homecoming football game. It didn't take long for us to become inseperable. In our first few years all of our free time was spent together while trying to balance time between family, friends, school and sports. We watched A LOT of movies, went to haunted houses, hung out with friends and watched eachother go through some of those awkward phases. As time flew by we soon found ourselves navigating a long distance relationship while attending different universities over 300 miles apart. We saw eachother only a handful of times a semester but our love stayed strong, perhaps even grew stronger. We were able to grow individually and learn what we appreciated most about each other. Now, 7 seven years later we find ourselves living together in Cincinnati with our two loving dogs, Oakley and Ruger.
It all started when my best friend, Lauren, asked me to do a “senior” photo shoot for her sister-in-law. The day of the shoot arrived and I had just got home from softball practice and it was raining. Between homework that needed to be done and the rain I wasn’t really in the mood to go and take photos. I was being extremely stubborn and tried to get out of it. After putting it off to the last minute I sucked it up, got ready and went. When I got to the field Lauren’s sister-in-law explained what kind of shots she wanted and began taking photos. I was standing on home plate in the middle of taking a photo with my back to the camera looking over my shoulder when all of a sudden Adam came out of no where. I was in total shock because I wasn’t expecting him to be there until the next day for the senior game. He got down and one knee and asked me to marry him. I was still in shock from seeing him and the words “It’s about time” may have slipped out. We celebrated with dinner at one of the brewery’s in town talking and laughing (I may have been the only one laughing) about how stubborn I was and how I almost ruined his whole plan. We finished the weekend celebrating our engagement and my four years on the field with family and friends. Looking back on it now a year later I couldn’t of asked for a more perfect weekend.
