Matron of Honor
Friend, emotional guardian, babysitter, and soon-to-be sister, Ashleigh has watched over Laurel (literally, she was paid to do this one summer) since the early 2000's. Mani-pedi partner for life, she is the person Laurel goes to for advice, such as "medically speaking, how much cheese is too much cheese" and "is this offensive". If she had her own TV series, it would be called 'Nurse Detective' and Laurel would watch it every night.
Best Man
Being his younger brother, the Notorious T.I.G. has known Johnathan his entire life. In fact, Johnny literally taught Tig everything he knows (except all that aerospace engineering stuff or whatever). Over the years they've bonded over backyard football, beer-tasting, the Caped-Crusader, and off-color humor that only a brother would not judge you about. The ever-encouraging older brother that he is, Johnny still allows Tig to believe he could beat him in a fight.
Maid of Honor
Friends since 7th grade, Monty and Laurel have been there for each other through many of the important milestones of young adulthood: instant message profile creation, joint custody of a Billabong sweatshirt, learning that Jerry Springer and Jerry Seinfeld are different people, and how to fit a futon in a hatchback. Monty still makes the best cup of coffee Laurel has ever had.
Groomsman
Brendan and Johnathan were both history majors at BC and bonded over a shared Yankees hatred, basketball, presumably similar ancestry, and a deep love for Boston College sports. They shared a 50 square-foot bedroom in their Mod senior year where they passed the time discussing sports, women, and philosophy (Johnathan subscribes to Locke's classical liberalism while Brendan is more of a neo-Hobbesian; and yet they get along famously!).
Bridesmaid
Caite and Laurel have been friends since they were five years old, when they were in the same kindergarten class. They went on to attend middle and high school together, carpooling in the infamous Mazda van, and taught each other everything they know about "defensive" driving.
Groomsman
Friends since freshman year at St. John's Prep, self-trained vigilante-turned-accountant Brendan "BMac" MacKenzie and Johnathan have been through it all together. Afraid to make new friends, they roomed together at BC and both have matching "Mod 32" tattoos. Brendan has secrets for sale, but you can't afford them.
Bridesmaid
Barrie and Laurel went to middle and high school together, and lived together after college at the beautiful Sycamore Street treehouse. Their favorite activities include rollerblading inside, playing soccer, and going to Market Basket. Laurel tries to keep her cool at Barrie's music shows, but can't (won't).
Groomsman
Pickle connoisseur, soup enthusiast, and callback virtuoso Stanley Thomas (aka "Insane Mathematics") and Johnathan met playing club volleyball together at BC. Among their favorite memories are commandeering golf clubs, Disney carpool karaoke in the middle of a blizzard, and being guest judges for a pillow-fight competition. Stanley is the godfather of Laurel and Johnathan's dog Marlo (the "dog-father" if you will).
Bridesmaid
Carrie was Laurel's randomly assigned freshman roommate at the University of Vermont. Both share a love of Sex and the City, fancy mixed nuts, and Don Cheadle. It's unclear whether their 65 square-foot dorm room launched an everlasting friendship or a very lengthy case of Stolkholm Syndrome.
Groomsman
Michael "Scope-a-lope" Scopelliti and Johnathan met at BC (technically on the first day of orientation though they wouldn't become close friends until sophomore year partly due to concerns Michael might be expelled during orientation). They have made multiple trips together to the Jersey Shore, Miami Beach, and Las Vegas and that's all they have to say about that.
Bridesmaid
Sam is an elementary school teacher who spent most of her college years teaching Laurel how to do things she should have learned in elementary school. She has picked Laurel up on the side of the road on several occasions. Bagels are a foundational part of their friendship.
Groomswoman
"Queen G" Regina and Johnathan became friends on a spring break volunteer trip freshman year at BC (technically they met on a retreat weeks before but Regina was a huge diva that weekend and didn't care to be friends). Since then they have lived parallel lives--post-grad volunteer years out west, (multiple) tours of graduate school, and relocations back east--remaining close friends all along the way.
