Yes it'll be 2 years in September 2024, so if you're thinking of objecting during the ceremony, it's too late! We're holding this event to celebrate with our friends and family!
To comfortably attend the wedding events, we would suggest booking 3 nights (Thr-Sat night) but you can stay as long as you'd like. We will be staying at the resort for a week.
Feel free to book with your own travel agency or shop around for Dreams Vista Cancun. But we do get a 25% discount and the perks of preferred club, so if you'd like to book through us, we're happy to do so. Generally speaking, the earlier we book, the lower the rates. So please get in touch with us as early as you can make plans.
Citra’s take: We know it’s a lot to ask of our friends and family to take time out of your busy lives to come attend a destination wedding. All we want is the gift of your presence. No gifts or cash, we just want to celebrate with our closest friends and family. G’s take: I fondly remember a time when I could fit all of my belongings into the back of a small hatchback. It probably helped that I lived in a cubicle. Good times… With that in mind, if you give me more stuff that I have to store, maintain and eventually move, I will hate you forever. I will begrudgingly make exceptions for S-works sl8’s and Cayman gt4’s, but what I would really like is a card with your thoughts.
Citra’s take: We started as co-workers and through work adversities, we grew closer as friends. I have to be honest. When I first met G, he told me that he doesn’t like seafood I told him that we couldn’t be friends. If you know me, I love food especially seafood and G believes food of the sea should stay in the sea. It wasn’t until I moved to San Diego that we figured out how much we really liked each other. I guess distance truly does make the heart grow fonder. G’s take: Charles tricked me into working at Genentech. There’s an assay there called Bioburden that is very tedious, takes all day and requires a lot of paperwork. So obviously, they make the new guy do it. Citra would come in towards the end of my shift to see me toiling away, and decided to be my therapist while pointing out all the mistakes in my paperwork. Before long, she had declared herself my best friend and I didn’t have the heart to contest it. Working together in the pandemic meant we spent most of our time together and soon, it was no longer contestable. Over the next few years, I slowly traded in my dreams of professional cycling, hand modeling, and living the van life for the reality of seeing her smile and laugh every day. To my surprise, I’ve never been happier. Now I have only one dream remaining: to one day be able to fit all my stuff into the back of a hatchback. TLDR: She tricked me.
Citra’s take: First of all, we’re already married so this is more of a celebration with our loved ones. We love to travel and I love the ocean. I always wanted to get married by the waters, maybe it’s in my blood from being born and raised on the island. Cancun was the first vacation that G and I took together. We want to share our love of adventure with our friends and family so we decided to do a destination wedding in Cancun. We hope everyone enjoys the vacation experience with us! G’s take: Citra has taught me that every once in a while, you gotta take the blue pill and just enjoy the steak. It’s an experience in and of itself.
