The Scouting Report: When these (below) two childhood photos were taken, we were worlds apart. Gamze (Gabby) was growing up in the ancient city of Kayseri, Türkiye, and Trent is a die-hard Bengals and Reds fan in Ohio. Back then, we didn’t even know the other’s "home field" existed on a map, let alone that we’d one day be standing at home plate together. Everything changed in 2017. Gamze had just moved to the U.S., and a random Trivia Night in Astoria, New York brought us to the same table. It wasn’t just a meeting of two people; it was the start of blending two cultures, two languages, and two religions into one beautiful life. Stats & Fun Facts: - For the first three months of dating, Gamze just nodded and smiled through every conversation. She didn't speak enough English yet to decode Trent’s thick Ohio accent! - Trent has already visited Türkiye 7 times. He’s officially more than just a tourist. - Gamze went to her very first baseball game with Trent. She never, in her dream, imagined she’d end up celebrating her own wedding on a baseball field! - Trent now eats more Kebabs than he does Ohio classics like Skyline Chili or Roosters wings. - Coming from a culture that didn't celebrate it, Gamze was shocked to discover how much fun Christmas parties are, especially the legendary ones at Judy and Fred's House. - If you’re lucky, you might hear Trent sing along to Turkish songs now! The Final Inning: We are so incredibly grateful that, out of all the cities in the world, our paths finally crossed at home plate. We’ve traded 5,000 miles for a lifetime of stolen bases and shared dreams, and we couldn’t be luckier to have found our forever teammate. We can’t wait to step up to the plate and celebrate this "two-of-everything" journey with all of you!
