Prepare for the weather. It will be in the high 30s in the early morning and reach a high in the 50s-60s in the afternoon. BRING A PAIR OF HIKING BOOTS/SHOES THAT ARE COMFORTABLE. This is a must! The rock on the trails can be slippery due to the red rock dust. Sneakers are suboptimal and not grippy enough. Some of the popular trails do have some scrabbling on hands and feet mostly to the tops of the caves and tops of the vistas. You can go far up as you feel comfortable and still experience great views. BRING ENOUGH WATER. We recommend a camelbak style water hydration pack. START EARLY if you would like a more private experience on the trails. Especially for Devil's Bridge. ALL TRAILS APP IS YOUR FRIEND. DOWNLOAD TRAIL MAPS IN ALL TRAILS TO YOUR PHONE AS THERE WILL NOT BE CELL SERVICE ON THE TRAIL.
You can always go the route of an AirBnB. There are several hotels in the area. We recommend staying in the Sedona/Oak Creek area.
