Our Story
In September of 2021, Natalia had just started her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Duke University, while James was serving as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army stationed at Fort Bragg, just a drive away. Both found themselves at a Duke football game. Natalia was in the stands with her friends, and James was making his way down the stairs to his seats near the end zone.
It was a little game of odds that sealed their introduction: Natalia lost a friendly dare with her friends and found the courage to walk up and talk to the ~very~ handsome man she’d just seen coming down the steps. Unfortunately James thought Natalia was a freshman in college, so this initial crossing of paths did not turn into much 😅
8 months later, with the help of a trusted mutual friend (Hinge), their paths crossed once again but with a better outcome for both!
8/16/2025: the engagement!
