We’re making it official!

In May of 2018 I (Lindsey) got a job as an emergency dispatcher. I would always hear Jake on the radio but never knew him as anything other than another badge number. August 2018 I was required to do a ride along with all the agencies we dispatch for so they placed me with Jake for 10 hours. I finally got to meet him and at that moment I knew we were going to get along great! At the end of September, I had another 10 hour ride along scheduled to ride with someone else, but luckily I ended up with Jake again (come to find out later, it was all part of his plan). By the end of that shift, we swapped phone numbers and he asked me to go on a date with him around Halloween because he wanted to take me to a haunted hayride! We talked every nearly day until then whether it was at work or not, and when October 20th finally came around, we had our first date. Jake and I met for dinner and a haunted hayride and ended up having such a good time, we were there until they closed up! By the end of the date, I knew he was the one. From that day forward, we started spending all the time we could together. We worked opposite shifts, but made it work. In June 2019, Jake Decided the next move was to buy a house close to work, I was on board and we moved in together. It was great even though we had no furniture and were eating off paper plates. It was the two of us and our dog, Sobe (Jake got her as a package deal with me). As of January 2020, we work the same shift hours at work and life together became much more enjoyable now that we had time to actually see each other. That February, we added another rescue pup, Xena, to the family! In December 2021, Jake asked me to marry him during our family Christmas celebration at his parents house and the wedding planning began!
