We're getting married!

We met in youth group during a summer event they had going on. I was of course too shy to pursue him... he was too shy to come up to me as well. I ended up asking a friend for his number and we talked back and forth for awhile. We sat together at youth the next week. I remember having butterflies and smiling the whole time. We sort of drifted apart a few weeks after, and eventually spiked interest in other people. Some of my friends still kept in contact with him, so I eventually saw him a few years after we had stopped talking back from our youth days. My close friend brought Zach to my house and we started to hang out/ talk ever since. He asked me to be his girlfriend and I remember being so excited!

I have been telling Zach I wanted to go to the Garden Glow at the Missouri Botanical Gardens here in St. Louis. His answer was always "eventually". I was getting anxious and upset because all my friends and family members were going and I wanted to go. I was also impatient because I had been asking him when he was going to propose.. no patience I know... anyways, I went to his house the morning of December 17. We had a day of activities already planned out. He told me we also had plans to go to the Garden Glow. I was so excited to go. Finally! I saw about two proposals that night as we were walking by everything, which of course, made me happy and also sad because I too wanted to be asked. We walked over to the big lit up maze. He had me stand under the arch piece and asked this lady to take our picture. Then I turned to the side and he was kneeling on one knee!! Of course I said yes and I even balled my eyes out. We can't wait to celebrate our big day with you and spend the rest of our lives together! See you in The Lou!
