Our wedding in the mountains is taking place at a high altitude and below are some recommendations to avoid altitude sickness. Symptoms of mild, short-term altitude sickness usually begin 12 to 24 hours after arriving at high altitude. They lessen in a day or two as your body adjusts. These symptoms include: Fatigue and loss of energy. Shortness of breath. Dizziness. Sleep problems. Nausea. Drink water Staying hydrated is very important in preventing altitude sickness. Drink water regularly during your visit. Other recommendations- Reduce Your Exercise. ... Get Enough Sleep. ... Drink Lots of Water. ... Limit Your Alcohol Intake. ... Increase Your Potassium Levels. ... Protect Yourself From the Sun. You can also talk to your healthcare provider about taking something before your trip to help prevent altitude sickness.
