Absolutely! We will not be arranging childcare for the wedding night, but guests are welcome to do so on their own if they'd like. There are several rooms at the wedding venue that could be used for childcare/naps if needed. Please let us know in advance if you'd like to utilize one of these rooms (for your children... ahem) and/or plan to hire a babysitter.
Yes! Please include any special dietary requests with your RSVP, and we will work with our caterer to accommodate them to the extent feasible.
The dress code for our wedding is formal and festive - from "cocktail" to "black tie optional" and everything in between. Wear something that makes you feel fabulous and come ready to celebrate!
We recommend that guests travel in small groups by taxi/Uber or subway to and from the wedding celebration. Taxis are not as easy to come by in Brooklyn as they are in Manhattan, but car services like Uber, Lyft, and Via are readily available. We are not providing any pre-arranged transportation.
There is plenty of on-street parking in Brooklyn. The following parking garages are also good options. 12/30 WELCOME RECEPTION: - Icon Garage, 149 Kent Avenue, Brooklyn 12/31 WEDDING CELEBRATION: - GGMC Garage, 174 Fort Greene Place, Brooklyn - Imperial Garage, 556 State Street, Brooklyn
Check out the "Schedule" page of our website for a list of optional pre-wedding activities, including a Shuffleboard Cabana Party on 12/29 and the Welcome Reception and "Sunset with a View" on 12/30. We encourage everyone to explore the city on their own, too!
Please plan to arrive at 6:00 PM. We have allowed time for guests to gather, check coats, and get seated before we begin the marriage ceremony, so there is no need to arrive prior to 6:00 PM. That said, if you are traveling by taxi/Uber to the wedding, please leave ample time to account for New York City traffic!
One Hanson Place was originally built as the headquarters for the Williamsburgh Savings Bank. Designated a historic landmark for the imposing grandeur of both its architecture and interiors, this iconic building is a rich mix of Art Deco, Byzantine, and Romanesque that has been fully restored to its original glory. Since 1927, it has dominated the Brooklyn skyline with its soaring four-sided clock tower punctuated by a Renaissance-style gilded dome. For more information, visit onehansonplace.nyc.
New Yorkers avoid Times Square like the plague on New Year's Eve - and in general, if we're being honest. The New York Police Department blocks off all area streets to vehicular and pedestrian traffic early in the day on 12/31, leaving an entire stretch of Midtown Manhattan impassable. Once you're inside the blockade, there are no public restrooms or food and drink vendors, and acoholic beverages are not permitted. Add cold winter weather to the mix and you're in for a helluva time! ;o) Needless to say, if you'd like to visit Times Square, we suggest you do so before or after the 31st.
MetroCards can be purchased at vending machines or staffed ticket windows in any subway station. You can download the NYC subway station map at mta.info.
