It was a hot summer night in the beginning of July that their paths first crossed but it wasn't until the end of the summer that same year when their story really began. They found themselves at another barbeque celebrating the end of summer. Eyeing each other all night sparks were flying. Alicia had a checklist of things to get done that night, most important item on the list was making sure Michael had her number by the end of the night. Most of the evening was spent laughing and drinking with good friends in the rain under the night sky. At one point Michael graciously cleaned off Alicia's sandals, already showing his great caring nature. By the end of the night they made plans to see each other just two days later on September 4. And so chapter one of their story began.
"Let's go for a walk, I need some fresh air." Those were the words that Michael said on the phone call to Alicia just hours before he proposed. The morning had been a whirlwind of events so Alicia didn't think anything of this very frantic phone call. In on the plan were Lynette and Julia who left moments before to go and hide near the spot he would pop the questions. Michael had planned the details of this day perfectly. He choose a spot they had been before and did what others do at this park and decorated some trees with a banner that read Will You Marry Me. Below were two figurines, elephants with their trunks in the shape of a heart that said together forever and the precious moment proposal couple. Michael led Alicia across the bridge and just as they rounded the corner and she saw the banner he professed his love and desire to keep loving her for the rest of his life. Before leaving this special spot they left a mark on the tree that still hangs there today. Upon arriving back at Alicia's parents home they made many phone calls to share the exciting news. Champagne was poured celebrating the start of the next chapter of their life together.
