On a random Saturday night with nothing to do, Ariana reached out to some of her good friends from high school, Jay and Adrian Varela, looking to enjoy a night out of the house. They then made plans to get together to watch the fights and then head to Dirt Bourbon for some dancing. It just so happened that Joseph was also looking for something fun to do that night. Joseph reached out to his, now, Best Man, James Vishaway, and told him to meet him at Dirty Bourbon for a night out. Joseph and Ariana spent the entire night at Dirty Bourbon dancing and hanging out with each of their friend groups, not yet crossing paths. When Dirty Bourbon closed at 2am and everyone was leaving the bar, Jay and Adrian ran into Joseph in the parking lot; someone who they knew through the military. They invited Joseph over to their place to have an after party and hang out. Ariana was already going to the after party and Joseph decided to go over and continue enjoying his night out. While at Jay and Adrians, Jay told Joseph to ask Ariana to dance. Joseph was under the impression that Ariana was with Jay and didn't want to overstep. After some clarification on their friendship, Joseph asked Ariana to dance. They danced to "Spin You Around" by Morgan Wallen, which turned out to be very fitting for their situation. After the ice breaker dance, Ariana and Joseph got to talking. They talked so much that they went outside, away from the noise of the party, and sat out there until the sun came up that Sunday morning. They stayed talking until about 6am when they both decided to leave. Joseph asked for Ariana's number and asked her out on an official date the next Friday, where he treated her to a nice salmon dinner at Seasons52, and then took her to Menchie's for some frozen yogurt, where she fed him yogurt while he drove so that he could enjoy it before it melted. Since the very start, Joseph and Ariana clicked so easily and naturally. They have been inseparable since that first date; so much so that they do not have an accurate anniversary date and consider it as the night they met. Joseph proposed to Ariana on their 1-year anniversary while on vacation to Oahu, Hawaii, at the bottom of the Manoa Falls Waterfall. Joseph and Ariana are beyond excited to take this next step in marriage and spend the rest of their lives getting to love one another and experience the blessings their life together has in store.
