We're Getting Married!

Melissa's Story: The first time Melissa and Marcos met is a funny story. They met through Jerry (groomsman). Till this day Marcos does not remember the “official” first time they had met because he was too drunk! Marcos believed they met in front of his building where Jerry had introduced them. When in fact, that was the second time they had seen each other. To Melissa however, it does not matter when they met... she is happy they crossed paths. One of Melissa’s favorite things about Marcos is his sense of humor. To Melissa, Marcos is a very funny guy and a complete gentleman. She remembers the day she sent him a text message saying “I think I’m falling in love with you” and Marcos took forever to reply. Melissa was so nervous at work; constantly checking her phone to see if Marcos had sent her a message. Marcos replied three hours later saying the same thing. What a relief Melissa felt?! Marcos' Story: When Marcos met Melissa, he thought Melissa was the meanest person on earth. To Marcos Melissa’s “Hello” was a little dry and in that particular moment he wasn’t a fan of her. He asked his cousin Jerry about her and to his surprise he found out that Melissa was single. One weekend, Marcos and Melissa’s friends and family planned a bowling night. Marcos took that as his and Melissa’s first date. When Marcos went to pick up her up, she says “Umm do you know how to drive?”! Marcos really contemplated on leaving her in front of the building because the disrespect was real! That date went so well, that since then he began to get really close to Melissa and eventually falling in love with her. July 9th 2014, was the first day Marcos was on patrol. Marcos remembers standing in a foot post in Harlem texting Melissa at all hours. That same night Marcos decided to test his luck one more time and really expressed to her that he was serious about her so he asked her out over the phone and SHE SAID YES!

On Melissa and Marcos 4-year anniversary, Marcos made reservations for them at Blend in the Water in Queens, NY. He knew how much Melissa loves and enjoys a beautiful scenery and chose the perfect place to pop the question. When they arrived to the restaurant, they both sat facing each other and enjoyed a beautiful candle lit dinner. At the end of their meal the waiter brought over two glasses of champagne on the house to celebrate their anniversary. When they were finish, they stepped out of the restaurant and walked over to the water. It was late summer night and the sky would light up with the building lights. The scenery was perfect! Melissa and Marcos walked over to a bench and sat down to enjoy the view. Marcos was making conversations with Melissa but seemed distracted by all the people that kept on walking by. His hands were also cold, something Melissa has never experienced happening to Marcos. Clearly Marcos was nervous and Melissa had no clue about what was about to happen! Suddenly when the coast is clear, Marcos takes out a black ring box out of his pocket and asks Melissa to marry him. Melissa was so shocked and at the same time overjoyed with happiness. She said YES!!! Melissa hugged Marcos super tight as her eyes filled up with tears. They both were super happy and excited for the new chapter in their lives.
