Right in our backyard, Lake Nokomis is our favorite place to spend outdoor time during the summer and where we got engaged in March 2023. There is a 2.5 mile paved path around the lake with plenty of benches and places to sit along the way. On the west side of the lake there is a playground and the brand new concessions stand, The Painted Turtle, that opened in June 2023. Cost: Free, Inexpensive Food

A Minneapolis staple, this museum has art pieces dating back from over 5,000 years ago. With over 90,000 works of art, we notice something new each time we go. Afterwards, we usually head to Blacksheep Pizza for lunch/dinner. Cost: Free General Admission, $10 Parking Fee
Turtle Bread Co. is the number one spot our guests (mainly Sarah and Cory) request to hit up when they visit. Only a mile away from our neighborhood, when we wake up early enough before work we love to have a special breakfast there together and split an order of huevos rancheros. Cost: Inexpensive
We went here on our first date (December 2017) and returned for our first anniversary. An incredibly fun museum that is great for our littlest guests to most wise. Right on the Mississippi River in downtown St. Paul, it is a great place to spend an afternoon with family. Cost: $35/Adult $25/Child (Kids under 4 years free), Ramp Parking $10 Optional $20/Person for Omnitheater experience
See where the legacy of General Mills began. Belonging to the Minnesota Historical Society this museum is a deep dive into the history of the flour mills on the Mississippi River. This museum also arguably has the best view of Minneapolis at the top of their glass elevator. This museum is special to Liz's family since Ramon (Father of the Bride) has worked for General Mills for over 27 years. Cost: $6/Adult, Roughly $10 Street Parking.
