When one attends their mom and step dad's wedding, they never think they are going to meet their future wife. Chris is here to tell you, you might want to think again. Christie and Dan, Chris's mom and step dad, planned a beautiful wedding in Bethany Beach, Delaware with all of their close family and friends which included Scott and Karen, Katie's parents. Dan is a lifelong friend of Scott's having worked together for countless years, so it was only fitting to invite him and Karen to the wedding. An important item to note is, the invite was for the two of them...not including Katie. At that time, life had been a bit chaotic for Katie so her parents thought a weekend away in Delaware would be the perfect break from reality. Katie didn't really think that was the case but after a lot of back and forth, she hopped in the car at the last minute to enjoy some time on the beach by herself...not attend a wedding. The night before the wedding while Katie was having dinner with her parents, Christie told them there was an open seat at the table. Someone had come down sick with covid so they would love to have Katie come. Katie begrudgingly agreed thinking, why not? That night Chris was working the room socializing (as he usually does) when he started a conversation with Scott. It was there that Scott brought Katie into the conversation after hearing Chris previously worked at Deloitte, Katie's place of employment. Katie & Chris struck up a conversation which eventually led to him asking for her number. The day of the wedding came, when Chris should have been getting ready, he decided to go meet Katie at the beach to get to know her more. Did he? Not so much...he was busy talking to everyone else at the beach. It wasn't until later at the wedding when Chris kept convincing Katie onto the dance floor that they started to get to know each other. The weekend wrapped and Katie thought that was the last she would hear from Chris. Much to her surprise, Chris texted Katie saying he would love to see her again & that is when the first day of our story truly began. From cozy nights in watching football to running the streets of Brooklyn or even dates taking Jack (Chris's four-legged friend) to the park, Katie & Chris learned so much about each other. Through all the laughs, hectic days, countless conversations, & much more, their relationship blossomed to where we are now. From here, we look forward to continuing our journey and growing together with the new page of our chapter beginning on January 30, 2027 when we begin our marriage.
