We met when we both least expected it. After a few slices of pizza and our first camping trip together, Jess's contract ended and she headed back to the East Coast. The next three months were filled with long-distance calls across many different time zones as Mike continued to travel the world for work. This explains how we ended up with different anniversary dates; Mike couldn’t wait to make things official, so he asked Jess to be his girlfriend in the morning from Japan while Jess was a day behind on the East Coast. This works out well for Jess because she can never forget the date—as long as Mike doesn't first! We have seen some beautiful places over the last six years. Through every mode of transportation: flights, trains, buses, ferries, bikes, and hikes, our love remained. Thank you to everyone who has supported us on our adventure. Whether it was giving us a place to sleep for a night (or a month at times) or rearranging your schedules on a moment's notice to spend time with us as we passed through, we greatly appreciate you. While our travels may have slowed slightly, our journey together continues. Over the past year, we have been blessed to spend more quality time with our West Coast family and friends. We have enjoyed hiking the Tahoe Rim Trail, playing city league sports, and watching way too many baseball and softball games (thanks Denali and Luken!). The time has come to bring our two worlds—East and West—together. How lucky are we to have our hearts held by people across the country and around the world. We feel so fortunate to be able to walk through this life together and are excited for all the adventures to come.
