It was a beautiful Memorial Day Weekend and Sarah went out with some friends (Andrea, Kirill, Courtney, & Brittani) to Pier 13 in Hoboken, NJ. As fate would have it, Michael had also decided to enjoy the day and took a date to the pier. When he spotted Andrea he came over to talk to her since they had worked together at Enterprise. When Michael left Sarah mentioned to Andrea that she thought Michael was cute and before she knew it Kirill ran off to relay this comment to Michael. Being the gentleman that he is, Michael had to continue with his date but he told Kirill to have Sarah Facebook message him. In a move that was way out of Sarah's comfort zone, Sarah boldly friend requested Michael and soon after he followed up with a message. The rest is their journey that has lead them to this very special time in their lives. Chance meeting or fate? So many things had to go right that day - Sarah was at the pier, Michael was at the pier - Michael not only spotted Andrea but came over to say hello - Sarah had to make a comment and Kirill ran with it. I'd say it was fate!

Sarah & Michael were leaving to go celebrate Sarah's dads birthday. Michael said he wanted to show Sarah something at Veteran's Field in Edgewater, NJ before they left for the restaurant. Sarah and Michael walked along the Hudson River enjoying the NYC skyline. Michael told Sarah to put one of his earbuds in her ear to listen to a song while he pointed at a building. The song was "Will you marry me?" by Jason Derulo. Sarah looked back at Michael and he was on his knee and asked Sarah to marry him. Of course, she said yes! It was then Sarah spotted her brother Adam (and his girlfriend, Ashley) who had been hiding at a safe distance but capturing this special moment with a telephoto lens. Sarah and Michael then went to Tutto A Modo Mio (where they went on their first date) and celebrated with Sarah and Michael's family. After dinner they all went back to Michael's parents house where they continued to celebrate their engagement with champagne and cake with more of Michael's relatives. When they went back to their apartment, they were greeted with engagement decorations, champagne, rose pedals, chocolates, etc from their friends/ Hudson Harbour neighbors - It was perfect!
