We first met in 2016 as freshmen at the University of Nevada, Reno. In a funny twist of fate, it was the small town of Winnemucca that connected us. Both of our roommates were from there, which meant we quickly found ourselves in the same friend group. It’s crazy to think how something as simple as a dorm room assignment could change the course of our lives. What started as “just friends” slowly grew into something more. For our very first date, Kyle suggested we put our bowling skills to the test. It didn’t take long to realize just how competitive we both are. While Allison may have taken home the win that night, in the end we both walked away as winners because that night was the beginning of the journey that brought us here today. On the walk back to our rooms, Kyle noticed Allison was cold and offered her his jacket, even though his own teeth were chattering from being so cold. He made a point to open every door along the way, joking, “Chivalry is not dead!” From that night on, he’s never stopped proving that to be true. On October 14, 2017, we officially started dating and began this journey together. Our years at UNR hold a special place in our hearts and will always be the foundation of our story. After graduating in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, we decided to stay in Reno and build our lives together. Not long after, we adopted our Golden Retriever, Aspen, who quickly became the heart of our little family. On December 21, 2024, Kyle pulled off the sweetest surprise with a little help from our favorite sidekick, Aspen. What started as a “fishing trip by the river” quickly turned into one of the most memorable days of our lives. At just the right moment, Aspen trotted up to Allison with a bandana asking the big question! When Allison looked up, Kyle was down on one knee asking the question we had both been waiting for. It was the perfect mix of love, laughter, and happy tears that was even more special because our little family of three got to share the moment together. We can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of our story with all of you!
