Maid of Honor
Melissa is Gail's younger sister. Only a couple of years difference in age but Gail believes her maternal instincts and feelings kicked in so early mainly because she was the older sister. Things Gail admired about Melissa growing up were her openness, her innate ability to make people laugh, and her fearlessness. This still holds true today. Melissa is the first person Gail usually shares any news with and Melissa is most likely the one to hide Gail's crimes. (Not that she's had any but you know) :) Gail's word for Melissa is beautiful.
Matron of Honor
Gail met Leilani (Lani) during high school in their statistics class senior year. They became even closer friends after high school even though Gail was at UC Santa Cruz. Gail can’t really pinpoint when they both earned their titles as Besties but one thing’s for sure, if there’s one person she can keep it real with, it’s Lani. Gail’s favorite memory with Lani is their vacation in Costa Rica and volunteering at a local elementary school not too far from where they stayed. It was an unforgettable trip although they probably should have brushed up on their Espanol. :) Gail’s word for Lani is genuine.
Bridesmaid
Johanna is Gail’s sister from another mother. With Melissa, the three were inseparable. Growing up, many of their summers included sleepovers and lots of swimming. In their adult years, they were fortunate enough to take a few fun trips together such as Portland, New Jersey and New York. Recently, Gail was ecstatic to learn that Johanna was also obsessed with the show “This Is Us” so you can only imagine the post-show commentary that was exchanged through texts accompanied by emoji tears and laughter. :) Gail’s word for Johanna is loyal.
Bridesmaid
Natalie is Nick’s younger sister. Gail met her at a random weekday dinner shortly after Nick and Gail convinced themselves they were, in fact. dating. Gail felt welcomed by the family instantaneously and it was such a delight for her to initially see how close Nick and Natalie were as siblings and how close they were to their parents. Gail’s been fortunate to share memorable experiences with Natalie such as hiking up N Seoul Tower and going on an excursion outside of Saigon City with no bathrooms available for hours. As much as one would think that Gail and Natalie constantly team up against Nick, they really don’t. Maybe just a few eye rolls here and there. :) Gail’s word for Natalie is giving.
Bridesmaid
Gail met Crystal in their high school French class. They took French together for three years and for the longest time, Crystal would continue to address Gail by her French name , “Giselle”. :) They had such a blast together during their college party days when Gail would come home on the weekends to hang out. Their relationship grew stronger over the years as they shared common interests such as designing, dogs, their faith and now raising toddlers at the same time in this crazy world. (Lani is in the same boat as they all have had kids a couple of months apart). If there’s a party, you’ll always want Crystal there as she lights up the room. Gail’s word for Crystal is charismatic.
Bridesmaid
Gail and Jeniva attended UC Santa Cruz together. They had the same major and so pretty much spent lots of time together in class or skipping class altogether. :) Upon graduating, they managed to keep in touch and since they both stayed in the Bay Area, it just made it that much easier. Jeniva is always there and makes herself available, prioritizing their special friendship. Jeniva is one of the most hardworking people Gail knows. She’s definitely a great example of how it is to be so goal-driven and how to be kind to everyone you meet at the same time. Gail’s word for Jeniva is graceful.
Flower Girl
Gail and Nick's little firecracker.
Flower Girl
Harper is Olivia's BFF. She loves blueberries, doggies, Moana, and Wheels on the bus.
Flower Girl
Kaley is another one of Olivia's BFFs. Kaley loves mac n cheese, the books "Go Dog Go and Pajama Time." She also loves swinging and going down the slide and climbing on everything. Another Moana fan. The three are just obsessed with Moana.
Best Man
Trace and Nick first met in elementary school. After having a few classes together and playing some sports together, they became great friends. They ultimately bonded over hockey and how they each strongly despised each other's teams, going to ducks sharks games annually. Over decades and after numerous jabs until Nick became swiss cheese, Trace softened him up and they developed an unbreakable bromance. Even though they now reside in different states, they'll always have that bond.
Groomsman
Collin and Nick first met in elementary school. Nick had never seen such a tall human being before and had the new kid on the block mentality of, you gotta befriend the biggest person here so you don't get bullied. Nick befriended Collin and was eventually adopted by his family. They eventually played on the same soccer team coached by Collin's dad, played on the same hockey team, and go on family trips. It just goes to show that family is more than blood.
Groomsman
Nick and Brantley first met in high school. They were a part of the same group of friends and eventually developed an amazing friendship together. Even though Brantley went to ASU, they would often meet up in SLO during breaks to join forces against their friends there to become beer pong partners for life. After graduating, they moved in together and there's no one who has your back more than this guy. He's definitely a guy you're blessed to have in your corner, boxing reference.
Groomsman
Joe and Nick first met at work. Joe and Nick joined a firm at the same time and were a part of the same "class". After being set up to go through the same trials and tribulations, they quickly developed a mentorship where Nick would help guide Joe to be the accountant he is today, but not really, it was actually the other way. Joe was the big brother Nick always wished for. Even after leaving that firm, they have maintained a strong bond and brotherhood.
Groomsman
Armando "Mando" and Nick first met at work. Mando joined the firm Nick worked at and they became quickly bonded over the fact that they both went to USD. Their relationship quickly blossomed into more than being coworkers but into a friendship. As this friendship grew, they eventually moved in with each other and became mates for life.
Groomsman
Phil and Nick first met in high school. They knew of each other in high school but didn't really develop a friendship until college. Phil went to Cal Poly with Trace and Collin and after visiting them there so often and so many shenanigans, Nick and Phil become great friends and now Phil and Teagan are Olivia's godparents.
