Our Story

Love in Unexpected Places

In Fall of 2022, Laura and Gage met each other for the first time, unknowing that when they were introduced to one another they would be looking into the eyes of the life partner God had for them. Their first meeting took place at a young adult bible study at Laura’s grandmother’s house. Gage had recently given his life to Jesus and was on fire to go anywhere he could to talk about Jesus. He had heard from his friends about the bible study and went for the first time. There were many people there so Gage and Laura had not run into each other during the event. When Gage went to leave that night an aussiedoodle, named Jessie, herded Gage back into the house when he tried to go out the door. Laura's grandmother, Margaret, sees what's going on and immediately came over and asked if Gage was alright. They talked for the next two hours. Margaret had these amazing stories about how Jesus worked in her and her family's lives. Margaret saw Laura and asked her "Laura! Have you met Gage?". Laura laughed and said, "No Grandma, I haven't" and then Margaret introduced Gage and Laura to one another. The day after, Gage went to church and found out that Laura went to the same church he did. Over the next three years Gage and Laura remained friends. Gage spent much of his time over those years working in ministry outside of New Jersey until finally moving back in 2024. In the winter of 2025, Laura moved 15 minutes away from Gage. Laura conveniently has the deadliest staircase in the tri-state area, so moving heavy things up there would have been pretty hard for her. She needed some help from her friends, and Gage was one of those friends. Gage would move furniture for 30 minutes and then would talk to Laura for hours. Gage thought that It was so nice to be able to ask her questions; she has such a beautiful mind. Gage started to get feelings for Laura after she threw him a birthday party. It was the nicest thing that anyone had ever done for him. After a while of getting to know each other, Gage got to ask Laura out and thank God, it’s actually been going very well. She doesn’t know that he’s crazy yet. Months later, Gage thought about something amazing. It was funny how Jesse herded Him back into the house. In The Tenth Chapter of The Gospel of John, Jesus says, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." Gage thought to himself, "You know who uses herding dogs? Shepherds". And they lived happily ever after
