Q & A

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is black tie optional. Please note that part of the event will take place outdoors, so plan footwear and layers accordingly.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving around 3:30 PM. The ceremony will begin at 4:00 PM, and we ask that all guests be seated by 3:45 PM. Middleton Place is a spacious and historic property. It may take a few minutes to walk to the ceremony site. A golf cart shuttle will be available to assist with transport.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your children, but for this special occasion, we’ve decided to keep it adults-only.

Question

WHERE SHOULD I PARK?

Answer

Guests will be greeted by a gate attendant at the main gate and directed to park near the Pavilion, where the reception will take place. A golf cart will be available to assist with transport. This service will be available until the start of the reception.

Question

IS TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED?

Answer

We recommend carpooling or using ride-share services if possible. If you’re staying at The Inn at Middleton Place, a shuttle will be provided for your convenience.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Charleston in December is typically mild but can be chilly in the evening. We recommend bringing a light coat or shawl, especially for outdoor portions of the event. To stay prepared, we suggest checking weather apps closer to the wedding weekend for the most accurate forecast.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors in the gardens, and the reception will take place in the Pavilion, which is an indoor venue.

Question

Are there accommodations nearby?

Answer

Yes! We have multiple room block options listed on the Travel page. Please book early, as availability is limited. Additional accommodations in downtown Charleston are also nearby.

Question

What should I do if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

Please let us know through the online RSVP form. Our caterer will accommodate dietary needs wherever possible.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony and allow our photographer to capture the moment. Feel free to snap away during the reception!

Question

Will there be any other events during the weekend?

Answer

Please look to the Schedule Page for any planned activities. We will be updating it as we finalize plans, so be sure to check back!
